FCPS to sell Southside Technical Center, Partners with Tranzon Asset Advisors

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The Southside Technical Center Building has been placed on the market.
The Fayette County Public School Board voted Monday to contract with a commercial real estate agent to help sell the building on Harrodsburg Road.
Property Assessor records show it’s valued at $8.9M. The 40,518 square foot facility sits on 5.4 acres and was constructed in 1976.
They closed the Harrodsburg Road location in May 2025 and merged into The Hill in downtown Lexington. The first classes were held in August.
Fayette County Public Schools will contract with Schrader Commercial Properties and Tranzon Asset Advisors to sell the property.
This was recommended by the Budget Solutions Work Group last fall to help cut costs.
It was identified as surplus back in November.
The 2025-2026 working budget approved by the Board of Education included the sale of the property.
